This paper is addressed to formulate a generalised nine-field variational principle for fundamental equations of a regular region of thermopiezoelectric materials in the elastic range by using the method of convolution. The region consists of many dissimilar materials perfectly bonded together at their interfaces. The novelty of the paper is to incorporate directly the continuity conditions at the interfaces into the variational principle. Also, a six-field variational principle is given, as a special case, for the linear fundamental equations of piezoelectric region. The nonlinearity in the fundamental equations and the effect of second sound in the equation of heat conduction are excluded.
