The paper outlines how a Borel-Moore homology can be developed for locally complete affine semi-algebraic spaces over an arbitrary real closed field R. In case R is the field of real numbers it specializes to Borel-Moore homology as exhibited by \textit{A. Borel} and \textit{J. C. Moore} in Mich. Math. J. 7, 137-159 (1960; Zbl 0116.403). A more detailed and complete account of this homology theory for semi-algebraic spaces can be found in the author's habilitationsschrift ''Sheaf theory and Borel-Moore homology on locally semialgebraic spaces'' (Regensburg 1984).
