The authors present an example of a closed, simply connected 4-manifold \(X\) that carries two Diff-inequivalent symplectic structures, i.e., \(X\) has disconnected moduli space (symplectic forms on \(X)/\text{Diff }X\). The example is based on a 3-manifold that fibers over the circle in two nonhomotopic ways. These fibrations lead to the symplectic structures on the associated 4-manifold. The construction uses the Diff invariance of the Seiberg-Witten norm. The developed methods allow to obtain many more examples of a similar nature. The paper concludes with a simpler example: a 4-manifold with inequivalent symplectic structures that however, is not simply connected.
