A variety is rationally connected if two general points are joined by a rational curve. This property is enjoyed by smooth Fano varieties and is becoming more and more important both in the biregolar and the birational theory of algebraic varieties. The paper under review proves that for pairs \((X,\Delta)\) with \(-(K_X+\Delta)\) big a general point is joined by a rational curve to an irreducible component of the locus where either the pair is non nef or non klt, see [\textit{N. Nakayama}, Zariski-decomposition and abundance. MSJ Memoirs 14. Tokyo: Mathematical Society of Japan. (2004; Zbl 1061.14018)] for the precise definition. This is done combining in a clever way the proofs of \textit{Qi Zhang} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 590, 131--142 (2006; Zbl 1093.14059)] and \textit{C. Hacon}-\textit{J. Mckernan} [Duke Math. J. 138, No. 1, 119--136 (2007; Zbl 1128.14028)].
