With \(\phi =(1+\sqrt{5})/2\), the golden ratio, define \(a(n)=[n\phi]\), \(b(n)=a(n)+n=[n\phi^ 2]\) and \(c(n)=a(n)-n=[n\phi^{-1}]\) for \(n\in {\mathbb{Z}}\). Here [x] is the integer part of a real number x, the unique integer in the interval \([x,x+1)\). For any \(n\in {\mathbb{Z}}\), the pair (a(n),b(n)) is a Wythoff pair. By investigating transformations \({\mathbb{Z}}^ 2\to {\mathbb{Z}}^ 2\) which are closed on the set of Wythoff pairs the authors prove that the set of matrices \[ \bar T_{j\ell} =\left\{\left. \begin{pmatrix} c(j)-c(\ell) & j-\ell & a(j) \\ j-\ell & a(j)- a(\ell) & b(j) \\ 0 & 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix} \;\right| i,j\in {\mathbb{Z}}\right\} \] is closed under matrix multiplication and hence a multiplicative semigroup.
