A sequence of bases \((\mathcal B_n)_{n\in N}\) in a \(T_1\)-space \(X\) such that every decreasing representative \((B_n)_{n\in N}\) of \((\mathcal B_n)_{n\in N}\) with nonempty term converges to some \(x\in X\) is called a \(\lambda\)-base of \(X\). The author presents some generalizations of his and Ramaguera's results concerning the existence problem for \(\lambda\)-bases in various types of \(T_1\) spaces. It is shown that a quasi-metrizable space possesses a \(\lambda\)-base if and only if it admits a left \(K\)-complete quasi-metric and that a quasi-metrizable Moore space possesses a \(\lambda\)-base if and only if it admits a Smyth complete quasi-metric. It is shown that quasi-metrizable Moore spaces can be characterized as spaces that admit a right \(K\)-complete (equivalently bicomplete) quasi-metric. Finally it is proved that a topological space admits a Smyth complete quasi-uniformity if and only if it is quasi-sober.
