The author investigates a general class of nonlinear congruential pseudorandom number generators with prime power modulus. He shows that these generators create tuples of successive pseudorandom numbers, which form a superposition of shifted lattices. He proves that certain undisirable regularities of nonlinear congruential generators base on this lattice structure. The results are applied to quadratic and inversive congruential generators.
