Fixed points of modular contractive maps (Q1761066): Difference between revisions

The author gives a new notion of modular convergence and establishes a necessary and sufficient condition under which metric convergence is equivalent to modular convergence. Also, existence of fixed points of nonlinear maps in this context is proved. An application to the existence of solutions to a Carathéodory-type differential equation is given.
