Let the system of linear algebraic equations \(Ax=b\) be given. The author investigates an algorithm of gradient type for the calculation of the canonical solution. It is proved that the algorithm converges to the canonical solution if \(b\in R(A)\). The case if \(Ax=b\) has no solution is considered as well.
