New proofs of the results on estimates for the Hausdorff dimension of strange attractors are presented. Then the authors demonstrate their methods in the case of generalized Lorenz systems and Rössler systems. Finally, the authors apply the main theorems concerning generalized Lorenz systems to concrete examples of physical systems.
