The purpose of this paper is the modelling and identification of a dynamic system affected by hysteresis, more precisely, to obtain a system that is amenable to model-based state-space control methods. The developed identification tools are used successfully for the purpose of fitting a dynamic model on a high-precision translation stage under the influence of hysteresis.
