The author deals with strategies for restructuring the transport calculations so that an Eulerian formulation may be applied to a broader range of problems in science and engineering. Exemplary calculations performed on the Taylor bar impact problem are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed strategies. The case of a high velocity impact is also considered. We mention a rich bibliography.
