    The positive solutions of the semilinear elliptic equation \[ -\Delta u+u=u^ p+f(x)\quad\hbox {in} \quad\mathbb{R}^ N,\quad u\in H^ 1(\mathbb{R}^ N),\quad u>0\quad\hbox {in } \mathbb{R}^ N\quad (N\geq 2) \leqno (1) \] are considered, where \(f(x)\in L^ 2(\mathbb{R}^ N)\), \(f(x)\geq 0\), \(f(x)\not\equiv 0\) and \(1<p<(N+2)/(N-2), (N\geq 3)\), \(1<p<+\infty (N=2)\). By introducing the energy functional, the author proves that the problem (1) has at least two positive solutions in case the \(L^ 2\) norm of \(f\) is small enough and the decay of \(f\) is fast enough.
