One of the approaches to fuzzy modelling is based on the theory of fuzzy relational equations. Moreover, the use of the concept of representability of a relational matrix provides a new paradigm for the linguistic interpretation of fuzzy relational models. The present paper addresses the problem of the linguistic interpretation of fuzzy relational models by proposing a new approach for the extraction of linguistic knowledge from systems using such models. The linguistic knowledge is extracted in the form of nonconflicting fuzzy rules. Three examples from the literature are considered.
