Neutral functional integro-differential equations with weakly singular kernels (Q909934): Difference between revisions

Using the framework of the semigroup theory, this paper investigates the relations between the solutions of a linear functional differential equation of neutral-type and the corresponding infinitesimal generator of the \(C_ 0\)-semigroup. The techniques of the Laplace transform and the infinitesimal generator on an appropriate product space are employed. Also, extending the results of a previous paper, they give necessary and sufficient conditions for the well-posedness of a class of neutral functional differential equations which includes some important problems in modelling the dynamic behaviour of the aeroelastic systems. From an abstract point of view they are dynamical systems on product spaces, containing the ``standard'' neutral and retarded functional differential equations and many weakly singular integro-differential equations. It is worth-noting that some open problems in this context are suggested and the techniques used here are also pertinent in the infinite delay problem.
