The authors consider the problem of three-mode bifurcations of periodical solutions of the sixth order potential ODE \[ \frac{d^{6}w}{dt^{6}}+a_{3}\frac{d^{4}w}{dt^{4}}+a_{2}\frac{d^{2}w}{dt^{2}}+a_{1}w+U\Big( w,\frac{dw}{dt},\frac{d^{2}w}{dt^{2}},\dots,\frac{d^{6}w}{dt^{6}}\Big)=0,\tag{1} \] \(U(w,w_{1},w_{2},\dots,w_{6})=O(w^{2}+w_{1}^{2}+w_{2}^{2}+\dots+w_{6}^{2})\), under the double resonance conditions. They give a detailed description of possible resonances together with the corresponding phase portraits. The Lyapunov-Schmidt method and other methods developed in the mathematical school of Yu. I. Sapronov in the Voronezh University are used to construct normal forms of the principal part of the key functions allowing to study the bifurcation pictures for every resonance case.
