Let \(\mathbb{F}_p\) be the prime field of characteristic \(p\) and \(X\) a simply connected \(H\)-space whose \(\mathbb{F}_p\)-cohomology \(H^\ast(X,\mathbb{F}_p)=\Lambda(x_1,\ldots,x_k)\) is an exterior algebra generated by finitely many generators \(x_1,\ldots,x_k\) of degree \(\text{deg}x_i=2n_i+1\) with \(1\leq n_1\leq\cdots\leq n_k\). The sequence \((2n_1+1,\ldots,2n_k+1)\) is called the \textit{type} of \(X\) and \(k\) the \textit{rank} of \(X\). If \(n_k-n_1<p-1\) then \textit{P. G. Kumpel jun.} [Q. J. Math., Oxf. II. Ser. 23, 173--178 (1972; Zbl 0235.57016)] has shown that \(X\) is \(p\)-regular, i.e., \(X\) decomposes into a product of odd spheres. Then \textit{T. Nomura} [in: Harmonic analysis and integral geometry. Proceedings of the 1st summer university of Safi, Morocco, July 15--20, 1998. Boca Raton, FL: Chapman \& Hall/CRC. 19--40 (2001; Zbl 0976.22007)] proved that if \(n_k-n_1<2(p-1)\) then \(X\) is quasi \(p\)-regular, i.e., \(X\) decomposes into a product of odd spheres and some spaces \(B_n(p)\). The authors study the case \(n_k-n_1<3(p-1)\) and give a product decomposition of \(X\) into irreducible factors.
