Let \(S_1\) denote the unit sphere in \(\mathbb{R}^m\), \(m\geq 2\). If \(\Gamma\) is a domain in \(S_1\), let \(K^\Gamma\) denote the cone \(\{x\in \mathbb{R}^m\): \(x/|x|\in \Gamma\}\). In the paper the author studies subharmonic functions of completely regular growth (CRG) in cones \(K= K^\Gamma\), where \(\Gamma\) satisfies certain smoothness conditions and for which there exists \(x_*\in S_1\) such that the closure of \(K+ lx_*\) is a subset of \(K\) for every \(l>0\). For \(\rho >0\) let \(SH (K, \rho)\) denote the subharmonic functions \(u\) on \(K\) satisfying \(\varlimsup_{t\to \infty} u(t)/ t^\rho <\infty\) (the actual definition of the class \(SH (K,\rho)\) is more technical) and for \(u\in SH (K, \rho)\) let \(h^*_u (x)= \varlimsup_{y\to x} \varlimsup_{t\to \infty} u(ty)/ t^\rho\). Also, for \(u\in SH (K, \rho)\), let \(\nu_u\) denote the measure on \(\partial K\) which is the weak limit of \(u(x+ tx_*)\) as \(t\to 0^+\). In [Functions of completely regular growth (Kluwer 1992; Zbl 0754.32001)], \textit{L. I. Ronkin} proved that in order for a function \(u\in SH (K, \rho)\) to be CRG in \(\overline {K}\), it is sufficient and, under the additional hypothesis that \(\sup_{x\in \Gamma} |h^*_u (x)|<\infty\), that \(u\) be CRG in \(K\) and that \[ \lim_{t\to \infty} t^{- \rho- m+1} \int_{\Gamma_{1,t}} d|\nu_u- v_{h^* u}|=0. \tag \(*\) \] In the paper the author shows that \((*)\) is still satisfied under slightly weaker hypotheses on \(u\). For example, in Theorem 3 the following is proved; Suppose that \(u\in SH (K,\rho)\) is CRG in \(K\) and that there exists \(c>0\) such that \(u(tx)/ t^\rho< h^*_u (x)+ c\) for all \(x\in \Gamma\) and \(t\) sufficiently large, then \(u\) satisfies \((*)\).
