Consider two probability measures \(\mu\) and \(\nu\) on a locally compact Abelian group. Call their Fourier transforms \(\widehat\mu\) and \(\widehat\nu\), respectively. If \(|\widehat\mu|= |\widehat\nu|\) we say that the measures \(\mu\) and \(\nu\) are equivalent or homometric. Clearly, \(\mu\) is equivalent to \(\mu* \delta_x\) and \(\overline\mu\) (where \(\mu* \delta_x(A)= \mu(A- x)\) and \(\overline\mu(A)= \mu(- A)\) for any Borel subset \(A\) of the group). The paper investigates under what conditions such measures are the only ones homometric with \(\mu\).
