The following control system is considered \[ \dot{x}(t)=Ax(t)+Bu(t)+f(t,x(t-\tau)),\;t\geq 0, \] \[ x(t)=g(t),\;t\in [-\tau,0] \] with the output \[ y(t)=Cx(t). \] It is assumed that \(f(t,x(t-\tau))\) can be decomposed into a matched and a mismatched part. A reduced-order observer design procedure to asymptotically estimate any vector state functionals is presented. A numerical example is given.
