An explicit expression for \(k\)-dimensional \((1 \leq k \leq n)\) area in an \(n\)-dimensional Finsler space is introduced. Using this notion a new definition of curvature for submanifolds of a Finsler space endowed with a connection is given. This curvature in the case of \(F_ n =\mathbb{R}^ 3\) reduces to the Gauss curvature. Some open problems are mentioned.
