In an earlier paper S. M. and C. L. Wang considered a \(B\)-spline on a type-2 triangulation. This spline is a cubic \(C^ 1\) spline and vanishes outside the local support. There are restrictions to use the \(B\)-spline in applications. Therefore in the present paper a new base of spline interpolations on nonuniform triangulations of type-2 is constructed. The new spline interpolation function is unique, has a simple structure and is easy to use. Approximation properties are discussed and some numerical illustrations are given.
