The purpose of this paper is to construct near resonance point of order four analytical approximations of the four-subharmonics, the saddle-node bifurcation locus of four-subharmonics, and the homoclinic transition locus of the principal saddle for the Mathieu-type differential equation \(\ddot x+\alpha\dot x+\beta x\dot x+\omega^ 2_ 0(1+h \cos\omega t)x=cx^ 2\). In particular, the author determines the region in the phenomenological parameters space in which the ordinary principal saddle (or non-homoclinic saddle) is in the presence of two asymptotically stable solutions. Unfortunately the paper contains a number of misprints in several key places.
