If L denotes the differential operator, \(L=u_ n(z)\partial^ n+...+u_ 1(z)\partial +u_ 0(z)\), and \(X=\sum^{\infty}_{i=1}\partial^{-i}\circ x_ i(z)\) (with a finite number of terms) is a formal pseudodifferential operator, then \(<L,X>=\int dz res(LX)\) gives a pairing of the Volterra algebra of such pseudodifferential operators and the space of differential operators. This allows to regard the coadjoint representation of the Volterra algebra and the so called Gel'fand-Dikij brackets. Starting with differential operators \(L=\partial^ n+u_{n- 2}\partial^{n-2}+...+u_ 0(u_{n-1}=0)\), there are contained realizations of spin algebras in the Gel'fand-Dikij algebras GD(SL(n)), which are special algebras of pseudodifferential operators with respect to a new commutator related with the coadjoint action of this operators.
