The author gives a simple proof of an Aomoto-type extension of a constant term formulation of Gustafson's Askey-Wilson Selberg \(q\)-integral which is based on algebraic and geometric properties of simple roots and reflections and the manner in which the root system \(BC_n\) is built up.
