Feedback invariants of restrictions and quotients: Series connected systems (Q1611896): Difference between revisions

The paper is devoted to the study of the relationship between the feedback invariants (controllability indices and invariant factors) of two linear dynamical systems and the feedback invariants of their parallel or their series composition. It is proved that this problem is strictly related to the feedback invariants of suitable systems obtained as the restriction and the quotient with respect to a controlled invariant subspace. Results are obtained under the hypothesis of the controllability of the quotient system. The noncontrollable case is also investigated, and an algorithm for reducing any nonsingular polynomial matrix to a column proper one is given.
