Let \(\Sigma_3:= \Sigma_{3,\overline 2}\) be the subset of the 3-adic integers \(\mathbb{Z}_3\) whose 3-adic expansions has only digits 0 and 1; it is called the 3-adic Cantor set. Let also \({\mathcal E}(\mathbb{Z}_3)\) be the set of all elements of \(\mathbb{Z}_3\) whose forward orbits under this action intersect the \(\Sigma_{3,\overline 2}\) infinitely many times. The aim of the present paper is to study the Hausdorff dimension and upper bounds of this set and moreover, to study in a more general way the structure of finite intersections of general multiplicative translates \[ S= \Sigma_{3,\overline 2}\cap{1\over M_1} \Sigma_{3,\overline 2}\cap\cdots\cap{1\over M_n} \Sigma_{3,\overline 2} \] by integers \(1<M_1<M_2<\cdots<M_n\), determining the automaton for certain given data \((M_1,M_2,\dots,M_n)\) and computing the Hausdorff dimension which, as it has been shown, depends in a very complicated way on the integers \(M_1,M_2,\dots, M_n\).
