The author studies in a new way the asymptotic of orbital integrals for the action of \(N(\mathbb R)\times N(\mathbb R)\) on \(\text{GL}(2,\mathbb R)\) and the asymptotic of orbital integrals for the action of \(N(\mathbb C)\) on the set \(H\) of hermitian matrices in \(\text{GL}(2,\mathbb C)\). Here \(N\) is the group of unipotent upper triangular matrices. In the orbital integral of a smooth function \(\Phi\) with compact support on \(\text{GL}(2,\mathbb R)\) (resp. \(H\)) partial Fourier transform is used. A new idea is the application of the Casimir operator to the function \(\Phi\) in both cases, which leads to the same differential operator on the space of orbits of maximal dimension (i.e. of dimension 2). From comparison of the asymptotics the results on matching of orbital integrals can be deduced.
