The authors deal with the existence of boundary value problems for first-order and higher-order control systems of ordinary differential equations. The right-hand sides, involving the control functions, are assumed either continuous or Carathéodory. The concept of topological essentiality is nontraditionally applied for this goal. Several illustrating examples are supplied.
