    The author uses the degree theory for k-set contractive perturbations of identity in Banach spaces to prove the existence of solutions for certain nonlinear vector boundary value problems at resonance. The main novelty of the results is that it is allowed that nonlinear term depend on the highest order derivatives and that it can be of superlinear type. For instance, it is proved that the boundary value problem \[ (1)\quad x_ 1''+x_ n+e^{x_ 2}-| \sin x_ 2''| =p_ 1(t),\quad \forall t\in [0,\pi], \] \[ x_ 2''+x_ 2+e^{x_ 1}-| \cos x_ 1''| =p_ 2(t),\quad \forall t\in [0,\pi] \] \[ x_ 1(0)=x_ 1(\pi)=x_ 2(0)=x_ 2(\pi)=0,\quad \int^{\pi}_{0}p_ i(t)\sin t dt>0,\quad i=1,2, \] has one solution. Also, the periodic boundary value problem for the neutral equation \[ (2)\quad \dot x(t)=p(x(t))+q(\dot x_ t)+f(t),\quad \forall t\in R \] where \(p: R\to R\) is continuous and verifies \(\lim_{| x| \to \pm \infty}p(x)=\pm \infty\), \(q: C\to R\) is a bounded Banach contraction with constant \(k<1\) \((C=C([-h,0],R)\), \(h>0\), with the uniform norm) and \(f: R\to R\) is continuous and T- periodic, \(T>0\), has one T-periodic solution.
