    The author proves that if a pseudo-Riemannian manifold \(\left( M,g\right) \) admits a closed conformal vector field \(V\) (i.e. such that \(\nabla _{X}V=\lambda X\) for every vector field \(X\)) then in a neighbourhood of a point \(p_{0}\) where \(V\left( p_{0}\right) \neq 0,\) there are local coordinates \(\left( u^{1},\dots,u^{n}\right) \) such that \(V=\frac{\partial }{ \partial u^{1}}+a\cdot \left( \frac{\partial }{\partial u^{2}}\right) ,\) for some function \(a=a\left( u^{2}\right) ,\) and \[ \left( g_{ij}\right) =\left[ \begin{matrix} -a & 1 & 0 & \cdots & 0 \\ 1 & 0 & 0 & \cdots & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & & & \\ \vdots & \vdots & & \left( g_{\alpha \beta }\right) & \\ 0 & 0 & & & \end{matrix} \right] \] where \(\alpha ,\beta =3,...,n,\;\)\(\det \left( g_{\alpha \beta }\right) \neq 0,\) and \(\frac{\partial g_{\alpha \beta }}{\partial u^{1}}+a\cdot \frac{ \partial g_{\alpha \beta }}{\partial u^{2}}=\frac{da}{du^{2}}\cdot g_{\alpha \beta }.\)
