    It is considered the problem of finding necessary and sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of some equations belonging to the class defined by \[ \dot{x}(t)=a_0x(t)-\sum_{k=1}^n a_kx(t-r_k(t)),\quad t \geq 0. \] The results are expressed in the space of the parameters and are deduced using the model problem \[ \dot{p}(t)=- \alpha p(t-1),\quad t \geq 0 \] which is used like some kind of paradigm.
