The focus of this paper is the pairs of additive functions \((f,g)\) linked by the functional equation: \[ xf(x)=yg(x),\qquad (x,y)\in\mathcal{C}, \] where \(\mathcal{C}\) is some specified curve. It is found that for many types of curves this relationship forces \(f\) and \(g\) to be equal and linear (e.g. Theorem 4.3, Theorem 5.2., Theorem 6.1.) However, there are some exceptions (e.g. Proposition 4.2. Theorem 4.2.). After summarizing the known results, polynomial linking can be found in section \(4\), Laurent polynomial linking can be foun in section \(5\), and logarithmic, exponential, and periodic linking can be found in section \(6\). In the last section open problems and further research directions are suggested.
