In the paper a stochastic model of fragmentation is studied. It is discussed connection between random fragmentation processes, branching random walk and branching Brownian motions. Specifically, the notion of the classical Fisher-Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piscounov reaction diffusion equation associated with a homogeneous conservative fragmentation process is formulated. Also, it is obtained existence, uniqueness and asymptotics for traveling waves of the equation. The relation between traveling waves and certain additive and multiplicative martingales is exposed.
