Let \(R\) be a ring, \(S\subseteq R\), \(F\) be a mapping of \(R\) and \(G\) be a derivation or an endomorphism of \(R\). The paper deals with the relation \([F(x),G(y)]=[x,y]\), \(x,y\in S\). A sample result: If \(R\) is semiprime, \(G\) is a derivation and \(S\) is a nonzero ideal, then this relation implies that \(R\) contains a nonzero central ideal.
