We consider an analytic germ \(f:(X,x) \to (\mathbb{C},0)\) defined on a normal surface singularity \((X,x)\). Let \(T_\lambda\) be the algebraic monodromy of \(f\) restricted to its generalized \(\lambda\)-eigenspace. With some restrictions for \(f\) and \(\lambda\), we establish criteria for the finiteness of \(T_\lambda\). Examples show that these restrictions are natural.
