The paper deals with the charged \(C\) metric, as a special (static and axisymmetric) solution for the Einstein-Maxwell equations. When the charge \(e\) (squared) is less than or equal to the mass \(m\) (squared), then the metric may be interpreted in terms of two Reissner-Nordström particles in accelerated motion and connected by a spring. By transforming the metric into the Weyl form, one obtains two line sources: one of finite length and the other corresponding to a horizon associated with uniformly accelerated motion. A further coordinate transformation leads to a metric with two charged particles in accelerated motion.
