    The paper deals with equivariant \(K\)-theory \(K^ G_ 0 ({\mathcal A})\) of \(G\)-\(C^*\)-algebras \({\mathcal A}\) where \(G\) is \(SU (2)\), \(SO (3)\), or its maximal torus \(T\), and the \(G\)-\(C^*\)-algebras are UHF algebras \({\mathcal A}= \bigotimes^ \infty_{i=1} M_{n(i)} (\mathbb{C})\). The action \(\alpha\colon G\to \Aut ({\mathcal A})\) comes from unitary representations \(\pi_ i\colon G\to U(n(i))\), \(i\in \mathbb{N}\), via \(\alpha (g)= \otimes \text{ad } \pi_ i(g)\), \(g\in G\). Conditions are considered when the \(K\)-theory \(K^ G_ 0 ({\mathcal A})\) and, in particular its ordering, is determined by that of \(K^ T_ 0 ({\mathcal A})\) with the restricted action \(\alpha |_ T\). The conditions depend on boundedness or growth rates for the degrees of the characters \(\psi_ i |_ T= \text{trace ad } \pi_ i\). This kind of action is also related to random walks on the nonnegative integers, and the conditions can be expressed in terms of random paths.
