    If \(t_n(x):= 2^{- 1} \alpha_0+ \sum^n_{k= 1} (\alpha_k\cos kx+ \beta_k \sin kx)\), \(x\in \mathbb{R}\), denotes a trigonometric polynomial of order at most \(n\in \mathbb{N}\) with real coefficients, then \(\widetilde t_n(x):= \sum^n_{k= 1} (\alpha_k \sin kx- \beta_k \cos kx)\) is called the polynomial conjugate to \(t_n(x)\). Let \(C_n:= \sup_{|t_n|\leq 1}|\widetilde t_n|\), where \(|f|:= \max_{x\in \mathbb{R}} |f(x)|\). The aim of this paper is the following Theorem: i) The sequence \((C_n)\) is strictly increasing. ii) If \(n\) is odd then \[ C_n= 2\pi^{- 1} \log(n+ 1)+ a_0+ \sum^k_{j= 1} a_{2j}(n+ 1)^{- 2j}+ r^{(2k)}_n, \] where \(a_0\) is the constant \(\chi\) from optimal norms in algebraic interpolation, \[ a_{2j}:= (- 1)^{j- 1} 8\pi^{2j- 1}(2j)^{- 1}((2j)!)^{- 1}(- 1+ 2^{2j- 1})^2 B^2_{2j}, \] (\(B_{2j}\) denotes the Bernoulli numbers) and \(0< (- 1)^k r^{(2k)}_n< (- 1)^k a_{2k+ 2}(n+ 1)^{- 2k- 2}\).
