It is shown that the image of the Fenn-Rolfsen link map from \(S^ 2\cup S^ 2\) to \(S^ 4\) may be identified with the singular locus of the composition of the Hopf bifurcation with its suspension, and hence that the complement of this image is fibred by tori. It is also observed that the two components of the image are Spanier-Whitehead dual and therefore that the link map is nontrivial.
