Summary: We develop a mathematical model for a disease which can be transmitted via vectors and through blood transfusion in host populations. The host population is structured by chronological age. We assume that the instantaneous death and infection rates depend on age. Applying, among other tools, semigroup theory, we investigate the existence of equilibria. We also discuss local stability of steady states.
