The main result of the paper under review is the following: Let \(G\) be a finite simple group of Lie type of rank \(r\) and \(H\) be a maximal subgroup of \(G\), then \(G\) is a product of \(N\) conjugates of \(H\) where \(N\) is a natural number satisfying \(N\leqslant c\log|G|/\log|H|\) where \(c\) depends only on \(r\).
