The paper illustrates geometric calculus as an efficient method for the algebraic and symbolic computation of the fundamental quantities for Riemannian geometry. Geometric calculus uses local bases of vector fields with constant inner products and their duals. As the authors state it exhibits a considerable acceleration of the computations when implemented in algebraic programming languages.
