\noindent Rotating and expanding Gödel type cosmological metrics are studied in the present paper. These metrics respect the observed isotropy of the cosmic background radiation and, due to the conservation of angular momentum, reduce to the open metric of Friedmann in the limit of large times and small distances. In the epoch when radiation or dust matter dominate the energy density, the solution of the Einstein equations is similar to the isotropic open solution, except for an anisotropic distribution of pressures. At large time scales, the solution is dominated by a decaying positive cosmological term with negative pressure and describes a quasi-flat universe. Notice that quantum cosmology also predicts the conservation law for a time dependent cosmological term. The author concludes from his study that the introduction of a global rotation can enrich the standard model of the universe by sheding light on the origin of galaxies rotation and the quasi-flatness problem.
