The author defines degree for \(S^1\)-equivariant strongly indefinite functionals and studies global bifurcations of critical points of such type of functionals. The case of asymptotically linear \(S^1\)-equivariant strongly indefinite functionals whose second derivative at infinity is nondegenerate is also considered. Applications are given to Hamiltonian systems.
