The author studies a Sherrington-Kirkpatrick model with ferromagnetic interaction (SKFI). This consists of a mean-field spin glass which combines (i) mixed even-spin Sherrington Kirkpatrick (SK) couplings, (ii) a Curie-Weiss (CW) ferromagnetic interaction and (iii) a Gaussian external field. Similar models have been previously studied in the literature, such as the SKFI with only two-spin interactions in [\textit{A. Cadel} and \textit{C. Rovira}, Rocky Mt. J. Math. 40, No. 5, 1441--1471 (2010; Zbl 1206.60088)], the SK model with a short-range ferromagnetic interaction in [\textit{F. Comets} et al., C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. I, Math. 328, No. 1, 57--62 (1999; Zbl 0999.60087)], or the SK model with Ising interaction in [\textit{F. Comets} et al., J. Stat. Phys. 120, No. 1--2, 147--165 (2005; Zbl 1142.82003)]. Here, the following results are proved: (1) For all temperatures, the free energy admits a thermodynamic limit given in terms of a variational formula, which involves the free energy of the SK model with a perturbed external field (Theorem 1). (2) If the external field is centered and non-degenerate then the positivity of the overlap and the extended Ghirlanda-Guerra identities are established on a dense subset of the temperature parameters (Theorem 3 and Proposition 3). (3) On the same subset of parameters, a general inequality between the magnetization and the overlap holds (Theorem 4). (4) Using the free energy of the SK model, temperature regions are constructed where the magnetization can be controlled (Theorem 5). Different types of convergence are deduced for the magnetization, depending on whether the centered external field is degenerate or not (Proposition 6). Section 1 is an introduction to the model, Section 2 contains the main results and Section 3 contains the proofs, which are based on techniques from the CW and the SK models as well as on convex analysis.
