On the finite-gap ansatz in the continuum limit of the Toda lattice (Q1586405): Difference between revisions

The author extends some recent results of \textit{P. Deift, T. Kriecherbauer}, and \textit{K. T.-R. McLaughlin} [J. Approximation Theory 95, 388-475 (1998; Zbl 0918.31001)] to the case in which both the nonnegativity constraint and the upper constraint from the continuum limit of the Toda lattice are active. He uses in the proofs some new techniques from approximation theory, potential theory and the theory of orthogonal polynomials.
