Let \(A\) denote the class of functions \(f\) analytic in the unit disc \(U\), with \(f(0)= f'(0)-1=0\), \(S\), \(S^*(\alpha)\) and \(K\) denote the usual subclasses of univalent functions, starlike functions of order \(\alpha\) and convex functions. In this note the author investigates the functions defined in terms of the quotient of the analytic representation of convex and starlike functions. Let \[ G_b= \{f\in A\mid |(1+zf''(z)/ f'(z))/ (zf'(z)/ f(z))-1|< b,\;z\in U\}. \tag \(*\) \] The sharp values of \(b\) for which \(G_b\subset S^*(\alpha)\), \(1/1\leq \alpha <1\) and for which \(G_b\subset K\) are determined and \(G_1\subset S^*(1/2)-K\) is proved. Interesting examples for functions from \(G_b\) which are not starlike and not univalent and for functions from \(G_1\) which are not convex are given.
