In this paper a short introduction to the deconvolution operation is presented. The deconvolution of a convex function by another function has an interpretation in terms of subtraction of epigraphs and appears in conjugating the difference of convex functions. The present paper gives a short summary of results published in a series of papers by the author and his former students.
