The aim of this paper is to generalize the Schwarz-Christoffel formula for a conformal mapping \(f\) of an \(m-\)connected circular domain \(\Omega \ni \infty\) onto a polygonal domain \(P \ni \infty\). The vertex angles at the vertices of \(P\) are measured from the interior of \(P\) and denoted by \( \pi \alpha_{k,j}\), \(0 < \alpha_{k,j} \leq 2\), \(\beta_{k,j} = \alpha_{k,j} -1\). The prevertices are denoted by \(z_{k,j} \in \partial \Omega.\) The analytic continuation of \(f\) follows by reflection across an arc between successive prevertices on the boundary of \(\Omega\). Following this the authors obtain the analytic continuation \(\widehat{f}\) of \(f\) which is (many-valued) analytic on \(C \cup \infty \setminus \overline{ \{ z_{k,\nu},s_{\nu} \} }\), where \(z_{k,\nu}\) are generated by reflections of the prevertex points and \(s_\nu\) are generated by \(\infty\) and its reflections. The preSchwarzian \(\widehat{f}''(z)/\widehat{f}'(z)\) is single-valued and from the discussion of the singularities and the boundary behavior the following formula follows \[ f(z) = \int^z \prod_{i=1}^m \prod_{k=1}^{K_i}\Biggl [\prod_{\substack{ j=0\\ \nu \in \sigma_j(i)}}^\infty \biggl(\frac{\zeta - z_{k,\nu_i}}{\zeta - s_{\nu i}} \biggr) \Biggr]^{\beta_{k,i}} \,d \zeta, \] where \(\sigma_j(i)\) is a set of multi-indices. The formula holds if for \(m \geq 3 \) a separation property is fulfilled, which is a positive lower bound for the distance of all pairs of the circles. The paper continues a paper by the same authors [SIAM Rev. 43, 469--477 (2001; Zbl 0977.30009)] which deals with the doubly connected case. Some supplements to the historical remarks in the paper about the Schwarz-Christoffel formula are given by R. Kühnau.
